Proverbs 3 vs 5 – 6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”. This is a promise I have had to stand on many times, especially of late.
Early last year, my husband and I attended a Christian course on healing and restoration. What we learned and experienced was amazing and we had planned to share this with family. We had plans to visit Port Elizabeth in April and Canada in July. We had also planned to complete a series of courses on the Holy Spirit, healing, and deliverance; and to share more at home church. Unfortunately, our country was placed on lockdown due to the C-19 pandemic and all our plans were postponed.
When the lockdown was lifted, we had to make new plans as so much had changed in just a couple of months. Travel was no longer an option due to the pandemic; the courses we had planned to attend were no longer available and our home church remained closed. We had just made new plans and started to implement them when a second lockdown was imposed. Never have I felt so uncertain, uneasy, and “unsteady”. In the past, I have always been able to “see ahead” and therefore plan to a degree, but of late I have felt as though a blindfold has been placed on me.
In my quiet time this morning, the words of Proverbs 3 vs 5 – 6 came to mind, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”. Having received these words, I believe that now more than ever, we need to trust in our Heavenly Father, to depend on Him for everything. We need to lean on the truths in His word instead of relying on our own knowledge, especially if that knowledge is influenced by social media. As we can no longer plan with certainty, we need to include the Lord in every decision we make and every action we plan to take so that He can lead us along the right paths.
